I’ve been using essential oils for years. Ever since my kids were babies and I went on this “all natural” kick and was making all my own baby lotions, butt balms, etc. I’ve loaded them up with essential oils (EO’s) that cured it all. So I don’t know why I never really got into using EO’s to cure things for myself other than the odd cut or scrape or just to make some homemade bath salts smell yummy.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted how she used cypress essential oil to help her sleep by rubbing it on her feet. I know, weird, but it turns out that the soles of the feet are one of the best places to apply essential oils. In short, it has the thickest skin, therefore most oils that would react to sensitive skin, usually do not on the soles. The soles also have the largest pores, which means the oils soak into the bloodstream quicker. Who knew? After reading this, I thought, hey, I have cypress, and decided to try it out. I mean what harm could it do? Well, I mixed a couple of drops with a tablespoon of coconut oil and rubbed it on my feet. I slept like a baby!

After using this for about a week and getting some much needed quality sleep, I had a different friend post about how she had quit using her allergy meds and only used LLP bombs to control her allergies. Turns out, the essential oils strike again. LLP is a mixture of equal parts lemon, lavender and peppermint. Well I had to find out what the deal was and after talking to her, she recommended Spark Naturals.

They sell  Certified Pure PharmaGrade -(CPPharmaGrade™) essential oils (you can read all about it here). These are the best money can buy. And so pure, you can ingest them for dietary supplementation. After receiving my order, I started taking the LLP allergy my bombs myself. I have to say, I am impressed. I can breathe again without having to take prescription or over the counter meds. What I’m taking are plant derived oils in their purest forms.

I have now been looking all over the internet scraping for “recipes” for ailments from everything for appetite suppression to PMS to headache relief. And I’m finding loads of things all over the internet that is helping me treat all these little things successfully. Below is the recipe for the LLP bomb for allergies but I’ve found lots of information at Camp Wander. (Incidentally, Rebecca over at Camp Wander is sisters with Jillee at One Good Thing by Jille who I’ve mentioned as a resource in previous posts for laundry and cleaning product recipes.)

If you would like to try the LLP bomb, head on over to Spark Naturals and get their Essential 4-Pack. It contains melaleuca (tea tree), lavender, lemon, and peppermint. It’s priced great and is perfect to get you started on your road to essential oil wellness. I’ll be back occasionally posting new recipes as I find ones I think you’d be interested in. LLP Bomb

3 drops lemon essential oil
3 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops peppermint essential oil

You can either add all these to a gelatin capsule and swallow or add to a small amount of water and swallow (which does not taste good, you’ve been warned) if you use pure dietary grade oils like those sold at Spark Naturals. Or, you can rub these oils on the bottoms of your feet and then cup your hands under your nose and inhale the vapors from the remaining oils on your hands. If you do not feel the effects within 20-30 minuted, you can repeat.
